Patent Issued To Tear Glucose Research, LLC.

Opticology announced today that a key US patent for one of its spin-off companies has received a Notice of Allowance from the US patent office. Opticology principal Anthony P. The spin-off company, Tear Glucose Research, LLC, has an exclusive license to the patent for glucose determination in tears. The company is developing a novel biosensor and the accompanying handheld device which promises to be a convenient and painless means to measure blood glucose in diabetics.
Opticology, Inc. has acquired a new facility in Brooklyn New York in the waterfront manufacturing district known as Redhook. The century old buildings are being renovated to include design offices and state-of-art optical laboratories for optical test, measurement, and assembly. The new space will include an area dedicated to manufacturing of optical and mechanical components as well as a prototyping shop.
